I am an educated art fan. This is a text book for the art pretenders. Grovier imbues the artists with thoughts and emotions he has no way of knowing. They are so far fetched no artist not on drugs would ever admit to thinking.Poorly executed layout.Nice font choice and high quality printing and paper.
Simplistic for a first to fourth grader would be good.
Like the great artist themselves, Grovier has stepped away from expected and accepted behavior. He offers enthusiasts a trajectory for which to judge the worlds tangible consciousness. What seems like meager aspects of creating are illuminated. Groviers’ intentional targets are arrows of precision and can be shared with youth, the elderly and mature adults alike. Grovier understands the artists obsession with intrinsic motivation and the power of the diminutive. I will reference “ A New Way of Seeing†to 1)engage those developing perspective 2)reengage the senses of those with cognitive deficits and 3)tantalize dinner guests beyond the laborious facts of who, what, when, where and how a master piece has come into existence. Thanks to Grovier, My senses are entangled with knowledge.
Loved this book. I read Grovier’s last book, 100 Works of Art That Will Define Our Age, and really liked the style. Not too many active poets writing intelligent art criticism. The text of this new book is packed with interesting ideas expressed in language that is rich and visual. Would highly recommend it.
