"The Medallion (The Bernovem Chronicles Book 3)," is a continuation of a great story. This series of books are great for people who love magic, dragons, heroes and heroines. Ms. Simcox draws you into her stories and you can't stop reading. The only thing I didn't like is it has a cliffhanger ending. I'm happy I don't have to wait for the next book since I came across this author after she had written several books.I want to express excitement for anyone who enjoys fantasy, The Bernovern Chronicles will keep you captivated. The characters are amazing and well defined. and the writer opens your minds with vivid imagery, drama, and intrigue that will make you want to live in the book. I fed on tales like these growing up. They are great for young readers you need to buy gifts for. They will definitely make them happy and entertained with clean reading. Young girls will fall in love with Kristina and Hector. Young boys will love the wizardry and battles between good and evil. I highly recommend these books and give this one a 5-star.

When readers left the magical land of Bernovem at the conclusion of “The Shard (The Bernovem Chronicles Book 2),” Kristina was following Hector, the missing wizard of Tezerel, to Jalmara in search of Aziril Crimson, the current wizard of Tezerel, who possesses the front section of Bernovem’s Book of Prophecy containing instructions to defeat Resucca and his followers. Werrien was cursed by the Shard and imprisoned by Sentiz. The adventure continues here in "The Medallion (The Bernovem Chronicles Book 3)," picking up exactly where the previous installment left off. Bernovem's wonders never cease, as Kristina finds herself on the back of a dragon, coming face to face with a young man from her past and in possession of the Medallion, a magical item that is said to have the power to protect the one who possesses it in the final days.Like the previous two novels in the series, this novel is filled with vivid imagery. Author Victoria Simcox has outdone herself in bringing Bernovem and the characters that inhabit this magical land to life. It is a suspenseful novel with the end of a chapter often leaving readers on the edge of their seats and having to immediately turn to the beginning of the next chapter to find out how the dramatic situation is resolved."The Medallion (The Bernovem Chronicles Book 3)" is a major stepping stone in the "Bernovem Chronicles" series! Don't miss it!

The third installment in The Bernovem Chronicles continues the story of Kristina and her journey in a magical land. As with the previous two books, this is a story that I'm sure kids will love, and it is told very well by the author. As an adult reader, I found the third book less compelling than the previous two, but discovered the tale is yet unfinished, as evidenced by the cliff-hanger ending. There were some unexpected surprises as well. The author most definitely has a knack for spinning an engaging story, and I must give her credit for that. The story is told in easy to understand language, and there is plenty going on with the fantasy world that the author has created. Gnomes, fairies, dwarves, and dragons aren't all that populate this very detailed fantasy world, and the villain is as dastardly as they come.I think many will find this great reading, and as I've said in previous reviews of the earlier books, the story is perfect for Mom or Dad to read to the young ones at bedtime. I still think the first book was the best, but there is more to this story to be told.

Come back for the third book…The Medallion is the third book in the wonderful series. In the first book in the series, The Warble, twelve-year-old Kristina has a difficult time at school. The only bright spots are Raymond, her pet rat, and her favorite teacher. When her teacher gives Kristina a Christmas present the last day before the holiday break, Kristina’s adventures began. In The Shard, Kristina’s adventures continue two years later. She attends a teen girls riding camp. Unfortunately for her, bullies from school attend as well. The bullies steal and read Kristina’s diary, laughing about her memories of Bernovem. The story continues in The Medallion. Kristina’s adventures continue in the wonderfully imagined and written children’s fantasy.Victoria Simcox has created a wonderful world of fantasy. The first two chapters of the fourth book, The Bernovem Chronicles, are included at the back of the book.

This is my third book by Author Simcox. I’ve read The Warble, The Shard and The Medallion was such an added treat. Many trilogies fail to capture the essence of the first book, but this one is ever more ramped up! Here are young female warrior, Kristina is fighting to find a book of prophecy so she can return to her beloved home. She also needs to find her love Werrien. She teams up with a powerful wizard. She’s even got a dragon that takes her to mysterious lands. A long-time friend from her past comes into the scene to help her on her quest, yet his appearance holds much mystery. The setting descriptions really transport the reader to this magical land of Bernovem. This is truly excellent fantasy literature. As an educator I feel this series should be adopted into all middle grade classrooms.
