I'm a resident in internal medicine, and in my line of work ekgs play a major role. I really need to know how to read and interpret ekgs. I read multiple resources including online articles but didn't find such an amazing book as this. This book is easy to read, easy to understand with its simplistic ways and diagrams. It'll make you want to learn ekgs. I advise this book to anyone wanting to learn ekgs regardless of which stage your at, it's good for medical students, doctors, and nurses.Highly rate it.

I'm a medical student. My instructors recommended we order Dubin's EKG book. It is good, but this book is better. It contains more information, has clearer explanations, and is all around better. You will not get more information unless you get an electrophysiology textbook. I would strongly recommend this book.

I was a fourth year medical student at the time I read this book. It is fantastic. The first chapter sets you up with everything you need to know and the remainder of the book keeps coming back to those few basic concepts that makes it easy to understand in a way that forces you to grasp the electrophysiological events taking place in an EKG rather than just memorizing patterns and shapes. It is a quick read and will help a ton on clinical rotations or just to freshen up your EKG skills

This book rocks so much. It understands that you're tired and hungry and your cardiology exam is tomorrow and you really don't want to read five unnecessary pages on the varying presentations of Wolff-Parkinson-White trying to figure out how to ID it.

Love this book. A lot of people like Dubin's, but that book just wasn't for me. This is the only EKG book that actually helped me. I say that if Dubin's or one of the other famous or popular ones is not for you try this one. I felt it explained a lot of the 'why' to things.

Used it in medical school. Best book to learn ekg for cardio and the wards. Easy enough for a non medical or allied health student to purchase and learn ekg. I have heard it isn't sufficient for a cardiology or other specialty residency as it doesn't dive in incredibly deep to certain rare readouts, butt for clinical rotations and below this is the #1 source for learning ekg.

First year med student here. Doing extremely well on cardio section. This book is clear and to the point, which is great especially when you have other things to do. English is my third language and I was able to finish this book in less than a week, reading 2-3 chapters a day. I expect I'll quickly read this again to prepare for Step 1 and then again before intern year. Highly recommended.

This is a great book for anyone who just wants a refresher, or for someone who is starting with EKGs from scratch. Great info, easy to read and understand and the chapters are well organized.

About the Author

Barry John Goodno is Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. He joined the Georgia Tech faculty in 1974. He was an Evans Scholar and received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin, in 1970. He received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Structural Engineering from Stanford University, Stanford, California, in 1971 and 1975, respectively. He holds a professional engineering license (PE) in Georgia, is a Distinguished Member of ASCE and an Inaugural Fellow of SEI, and has held numerous leadership positions within ASCE. He is a member of the Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI) of ASCE and is a past president of the ASCE Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) Board of Governors. He is past-chair of the ASCE-SEI Technical Activities Division (TAD) Executive Committee, and past-chair of the ASCE-SEI Awards Committee. In 2002, Dr. Goodno received the SEI Dennis L. Tewksbury Award for outstanding service to ASCE-SEI. He received the departmental award for Leadership in Use of Technology in 2013 for his pioneering use of lecture capture technologies in undergraduate statics and mechanics of materials courses at Georgia Tech. He is a member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) and has held several leadership positions within the NSF-funded Mid-America Earthquake Center (MAE), directing the MAE Memphis Test Bed Project. Dr. Goodno has carried out research, taught graduate courses and published extensively in the areas of earthquake engineering and structural dynamics during his tenure at Georgia Tech. Dr. Goodno is an active cyclist, retired soccer coach and referee, and a retired marathon runner. Like co-author and mentor James Gere, he has completed numerous marathons including qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon in 1987.

Let's be honest: if you're looking at this book, you probably need it for a class. That said, I still refer to it for other classes and it has lots of helpful tables and information. The examples are also easy to follow. Of all the books I have had to buy for school I actually liked this one. It's a great reference to have on-hand and I'm glad I bought it.

Looks like a good book. Using it this semester.

Pretty quality for a textbook. I only feel slightly overcharged, so I consider it an achievement in required academic literature.

Very useful information on eating healthier in combination with traditional western medicine. This book is important to read as most doctors do not provide their patients with enough information on the importance of a good diet.

I love this book and have been recommending it to everyone I know. I thought I ate pretty healthy before I read this book but I learned of so many ways that I can help my family eat even better. Upon completing this book, I bought a juicer and I have been juicing everyday and I feel better than I have felt in years. I love how the author breaks down information into specific chapters for common illnesses and offers explicit instructions for diet, herbs, juices and supplements. The other thing that is great about this book is that the author does not make you feel as though good nutrition is an all or nothing choice. The information is presented in a way that you feel as though any small change you can incorporate is a step in the right direction because let's face it....we all cannot eat perfectly all the time.

Great book which explains how to use food to heal the body. Easy to understand and well written.

Excellent book, full of healthful information and recipes. I was already on this path of healthful nutrition, and this book reinforced me 1oo%. I was so impressed with his healthful juices that I bought a 'Vitamix' one of his suggestions. I love it, making my own healthful juices with a variety of veges and fruits. I first read this book from the library and new I needed to have it on my bookshelf, so purchased my own copy for future reference!
