The early photographs have a documentary feel, even recalling Evans's Depression-era photography or Arbus's sense of the grotesque. They can seem cluttered, but in fact present the right amount of information without feeling posed. The later photographs are cleaner, clearer, and often in color. Props are used effectively to extend the subject's image: Keith Haring painted with the black-and-white abstractions he favored; Christo wrapped; David Lynch with turtleneck up to the hairline; Sting caked in mud: Clint Eastwood tied up; a shot of Pele's soccer-battered feet. These photographs simultaneously exploit each luminary's image while allowing them a certain privacy because they are playing along with the photographer. It's always great to see Annie Leibovitz work, but her early work it just alright in my opinion. This wouldn't be the best book to grasp her work, but it's interesting to see how she's evolved.

Ancient Seder Olam is a chronology from the day of the creation of man to 1948. I found the last few chapters the most exciting, but the rest of the book would have been far more interesting, if I had read the context of the scriptures presented by Dr. Ken Johnson. I'm sure because of space, he only quoted the passage necessary to show the chronology. Even so, I couldn't put the book down. Reading the passages in context would definitely fill it out, and give a far greater, and more exciting understanding of the history of man and, particularly Israel and Judah, for almost 2000 years. Dr. Johnson includes charts to help you follow the chronology. I had already read his Ancient Post-Flood History, which was also a definite help.

I'm finding this book most interesting. I'm not a numbers person but the author takes all of the numbers, dates, ages of the characters and events mentioned in the Old Testament to show the flow and accuracy of the creation of the world, man, events, and history of the Hebrews. Worth having in your library.

I bought this version because I especially liked the tables with the dates in both the Jewish calander and our modernized western calander. The book is quite a quick read though. Also, not really part of the ancient seder, but the writer has written an additional chapter which covers major events from the second temple to the reestablishment of the modern nation of Israel. I found that chapter to have quite a few surprises.

This book presents Old Testament events in a timeline-like form ranging from the first day of Creation to the end of the Second Temple. Dates are clustered by topic and there are 31 topics. (Actually chapter 31 is history after the Seder Olam, or dates covering the reign of Cyrus, circa 540 BC, up to the 1967 Six Day War.) Each date is accompanied with commentary explaining the who-what-why-when-where-how. The book is written from a Christian perspective but contains very little, if any, Christian dogma.I'm not sure how I wound up with both Kindle and paperback versions but I'm glad I did. I prefer to use real books when studying but it's also great to be able to carry an impossible number of reference books in ebook form.

Seder Olam, which means "order of eternity", was not quite what I expected. This is basically the Book of Jasher with material added by various Jewish priests. (The added material is generally corrected by Doctor Johnson as incorrect or inaccurate.) Read Ken Johnson's book "Ancient Post-Flood History" first, then read this. The chronological tables in the Appendicies alone would make this book a good purchase. When looking for the history of man immediately following the Flood, there are few books to read. This one is one of only four that I found.

Very Informative, it fills in the background details of several books in the Old Testament. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to truly learn about Biblical times.

If you need to really follow along with the scriptures, this book is an excellent time line to help you do that. It brings things into perspective.

A fascinating story about a man, his vision, and his pursuit. For a name we all know, I for one, knew nothing at all about the man, his core beliefs, and the trailblazing journey it put him on. It is a real eye opener and explains a great deal about different approaches to doing business and why we find ourselves on the ' slippery slope ' we do.Unfortunately American business has, for the most part, taken the short view. This tells the story of a different way.

I have been a fan of Honda for years. My family has owned several Honda products through the years from cars to lawn mowers to power generators. They are very reliable. To me Honda is THE company others should strive to be more like. This is a must read. It shows you what Honda is like as a business and how it operates. I enjoyed it and would recommend it for anyone interested in knowing more about this amazing company.

This book is really fascinating. Honda is very cost conscious as a way to improve the bottom line. That makes sense for any capitalist enterprise. But what's different is that they are a very bottom-up organization. That's what's unique. I work for a very lean and highly profitable company. Upper management has no interest in feedback from lower level employees. It's so demoralizing. Maybe I should tell the president about this bo... Oh, never mind.

I was always wondering that how automobile company can make a robot, airplane and so many different types of engines for customers. Obviously Honda has a secret to have the ideas and realize as products. I hope to have a chance to meet the people who are worked at Honda and interviewed in this book.Although I understand that this book couldn't tell and show everything, it is worth to spend a time to reading it.

Deceptive title. I was hoping for a Book with insight into Honda's product design, testing and manufacturing with specific details on different car models. This book is more of a general business book loosely framed around Honda. There are some interesting parts and I took away some relevant business insight, but this was not what I expected.

I did not know prior to this the concept of localization that Honda works on. Being that I have to set up Repair and Manufacturing sites for various companies this information will be useful for some coming up now. I also love history, motorcycles, and race cars so this plays right to me.I would recommend this to even the gearheads out there even though it aims more to my Repair/Manufacturing side.

It is amazing to see how a person with dreams and passion that has the right partner can change the world so much and benefit so many people. It also proves that there are still in fact companies that sincerely truly put customer satisfaction and their products before profit, not just for advertisement. I want to believe there are many companies that sincerely put their products and customer satisfaction before profits. A very inspiring book. Totally recommend it!

The book emphasizes the need for contributions from exhibited cultures, deeper expertise in non-Western and minority culture, and experimental exhibition design that allows for multiple perspectives and a metacritical admission of the curatorâ€™s agency.

I'm using this book for my thesis and it's a really great selection. It gives you a good introduction to Museum Studies in general and then has some interesting case studies to flesh out more specific dynamics. Even though it's a linguistics thesis, and the place I'm looking at isn't quite like any of the examples, this book gives you a really good idea of the politics and complications in representation, and would probably by helpful to a wide variety of researching.

Seriously? This book was recommended to me by a colleague. Had I known that the "scholarship" included an extensive essay by Patrick Houlihan who embezzled over 3 million dollars + of Native American Artifacts from the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles as well as American Paintings and Jewelry. Numerous artifacts were highly sensitive religious objects. He personally used the proceeds to purchase a home in Arizona. Not hardly an author of repute. He is a convicted felon.

The book came on time, even before expected, and it was in great condition. It almost didn't look like a used book. The book itself, though, wasn't all that helpful. I'm a student working on a museum design and it didn't give me as much information as I wouldve liked. It was very specific to certain types/areas. I was looking for something a little more general.
