Having experience at professional levels in England and Austria, and being close friends with former players for Liverpool and manchester united, has been valuable in my education as a player / student of the game. Rinus Michels' "Teambuilding" has complimented (and added to) my former knowledge and I am glad I was introduced to the book.Michels presents several unique perspectives on building and managing a team. He includes everything from advice on strategy, tactics, formations, and man management to commentary on what makes non-American football such a unique game (e.g. He distinguishes between a "Coaches Game" and a "Players' Game"). I was a little weary of his chosen method for treatment of players at times, but aside from the hesitation that may induce, I would highly recommend this book to any true lover of the sport.

What can be said about Rinus Michels that hasn't already been said about the creator of 'Total Soccer'. Having said that I can only give this book four stars due to Mr. Michels' ramblings sometimes. Yes, it is a somewhat difficult book to read. My advice is to get you a notepad and pen to write down the many golden gems found in this book.Half-way through the book I realized that I was reading the thoughts of a genius. Section after section I found the answers to some of my questions I had regarding the tactics, training, and methods of professional teams (some applicable up to the U12 level.) I have no doubts that the reader's coaching methods will be positively affected due to the knowledge that Mr. Michels shares in this book.

The bible of the Dutch Style of play. It rambles a bit but, this books is an eye opening experience into to Van Gaal's Mentor.

Everyone that is trying to get into coaching soccer/football should first start by reading this book.Any book that gives over 30 years of successful experience should be on the top of every reading list.

I was first licensed in 2005 but don't have much on-the-air experience. I recently returned on the air after a hiatus and felt like I needed some additional guidance. This book fit the bill. It has a lot of info based on the author's experience; it is not, however, a comprehensive operating manual and is not intended to be. I rated it 5 stars based on its intended audience.The book covers types of equipment needed according to one's budget. The author also discusses various operating modes and operating etiquette. He does not get very technical and there is no discussion of electronics or complex math. The writing style is easy to read and the author occasionally throws in a bit of humor. The only negative for me is that I thought the book was somewhat pricey compared with the others I looked at but the author is, after all, sharing many years of experience. After reading the book, I felt like it helped me and I would buy it again.

This book is very clear and immediately useful. Buck’s style is entertaining and studded with memorable anecdotal images. Realistic dialogue is included to exemplify how (and how not) to proceed while making contacts. He covers two dozen topics and nearly 40 subtopics including modes, choosing equipment, grounds, antennas, operating strategies, propagation, QSO etiquette, confirming contacts, and much more. Buck is an insightful and efficient writer. Through the economy of his language, he explains concepts quickly and directly. He avoids whimsical filler. Footnotes explain terms that are unique to amateur radio. This book continues to be a ready reference in my shack. I also bought his book on DX and his prep book for the Extra ticket. As the best mentors do, he shares his knowledge with all by way of practical examples and applicable guidance.

It’s was written in easy way to understand and make it’s easier to go over the basics. If you’re a new one this is what you need to understand must of the terminology and procedures.

Very easy to read and understand. Covers everything you need to get started in HF from equipment to how to make the contacts. It is not so technical that you are lost for he explains everything. I am so happy I was given this as a gift after I earned my Armature Extra class radio lisence. a great reference to use both for new and "old" Hams. If you are looking for a gift for a new ham this would be the perfect one.Well done K4IA73's K4WPO

Very easy read. Enjoyed the personal experiences. Eating due to repetition from DX book seemed laborious. Highly recommend for review and fine tuning ones skills .

This is the most information I've every read in a small space of bandwidth. This reference and study guide should be in everyone's desk.
